Manufacturer of disposable diagnostic devices Merit Medical Systems has acquired the exclusive distribution rights for a range of microcatheters from Japanese company GMA (Shizuoka Prefecture) for an undisclosed sum. The rights cover North America, South America, the Middle East, Asia and Europe. The product line is expected to be marketed during the first half of 2008, after submission to the FDA and the European regulatory body. This deal is complementary to Merit (South Jordan, Utah), as it has a wide range of diagnostic, dialysis and drainage catheters.
