Gebauer Medizintechnik has CE-marked for sale in Europe its single-use Gebauer SL Keratome for use in laser eye surgery. The Neuhausen, Germany firm claims that the product, a device for making incisions in eye surgery, has an ergonomic and lightweight handpiece that enables the surgeon to keep their hand motionless while performing the surgical procedure. The device offers "a unique product package", said Steffen Gebauer, the firm's managing director, with its motionless handpiece grip, simple foot pedal control, intelligent "Click-And-Go" set-up and a complete single-use set with stainless steel vacuum ring. The technology can be applied to all refractive operations.
