The German sickness funds and product manufacturers need to work together to secure faster adoption of medical technical aids in the national medtech aid register (HMV). That was the consensus view of delegates at BVMed's June 14 conference on the theme of getting products into the directory in the wake of the 2007 health reform. The HMV is not a positive list, BVMed spokesperson Daniella Piossek pointed out, but inclusion of a product in the volume undoubtedly confers a commercial advantage.
