Executive Summary
Micromedics, a St Paul, Minnesota-based company targeting the ear, nose and throat (ENT) market, is to see a 15% increase in its revenues with the acquisition of Californian ear product specialist Santa Barbara Medco (SBM). The latter will give Micromedics access to the over-the-counter market, where SBM sells its range products comprising ear drops, ear putty and ear plugs. The Santa Barbara-based firm also sells directly to consumers and doctors' offices. Its products are said to complement Micromedics' ENT portfolio, which includes the EarPopper, a small hand-held device for treating ear pressure and middle-ear fluid.
