STAAR Surgical (Monrovia, California), a manufacturer of devices for minimally-invasive surgical eye correction, has appointed Robin Hughes as vice-president of marketing. Mr Hughes, who has set up his own marketing and strategy consultancy, also served at ophthalmic devices company Bausch & Lomb (New York) for 13 years, most recently as vice-president of global strategy and commercialisation for refractive surgery. He replaces Darcy Wendel, who is transitioning into an independent marketing consultant.
