The diagnostic and medical technology industry's interest in a ground-breaking UK-based collaboration to discover biomarkers has highlighted the extent to which this technology is seen as a future tool in healthcare. A £17m ($33.5m) programme of 18 projects co-ordinated by the UK's Medical Research Council (MRC) aims to ultimately speed up the development of diagnostic, prognostic and theranostic applications.
