Executive Summary
Plans are afoot at the European Commission to introduce changes that would enable larger companies to obtain aid for research and development more swiftly. As part of its plans for a comprehensive reform of the state aid rules, the Commission will shortly be issuing a new draft regulation for comment to member states, with the aim of having the regulation adopted by summer 2008.
