Abbott Diabetes Care will release in the US next month its FreeStyle Lite blood glucose monitor for diabetics, after receiving 510(k) market clearance for the product. The device has an automatic calibration feature that eliminates the manual coding step usually required by most blood glucose meters before starting a new vial of test strips, Alameda, California firm claimed. It is easy to use and will allow users to test their blood quickly, it added.
