Executive Summary
Trevi Health Ventures, a transatlantic healthcare private equity firm, has teamed up with medtech entrepreneur Peter Hinchliffe to form Interventional & Surgical Innovations (ISI), a development platform company for early-stage medical technologies. With its initial focus on the cardiovascular market, ISI will provide funding to take early technologies through to the proof-of-concept stage, with the goal of spinning out the end products into a series of separately-financed entities. The company has already acquired licences to several technologies that are being developed by Prof Frans Moll at Utrecht University in the Netherlands. As part of the strategic partnership with the university, Prof Moll will be key clinical advisor to ISI. The firm will be managed by Mr Hinchliffe , who has held senior roles in the interventional and intervascular divisions of Datascope and in the US Surgical division of Tyco.
