Durham Scientific Crystals (DSC) has secured £684,000 ($1.3m) in the second tranche of a series F financing, bringing the total raised to £1.6m. The UK company, which specialises in cadmium telluride-based materials used in digital imaging devices, will use the funds to continue product developments, expand its work force and support marketing activities. On the closing of this most recent round, US technology investor firm and DSC's primary shareholder Amphion Innovations now owns 25.3% of the Durham-based company.
