InnerPulse (Research Triangle Park, North Carolina), a firm that is developing an implantable defibrillator, has appointed Elsa Abruzzo as vice-president of regulatory and quality affairs. She joins from AtriCure, where she served as vice-president of regulatory and clinical affairs. The position is newly-created as the firm moves towards clinical studies and regulatory approval of its device. Ms Abruzzo has served for more than 18 years in the device industry, including terms at CryoLife and J&J's Cordis.
