Fagen to head Staar's North American sales

Intraocular lens (IOL) and implantable contact lens developer Staar Surgical has appointed Don Fagen to the newly-created role of vice-president of sales for North America. Mr Fagen has over 20 years' medtech industry experience, of which 12 was spent in the refractive surgery sector, working for VISX, Alcon and Clear Vision/Hillside Group. At Staar, he will be responsible for leading efforts to grow sales of the company's recently launched and forthcoming products. Recently approved and launched products include new technology IOLs and IOL injector systems. The Monrovia, California firm is currently awaiting approval of its preloaded silicone IOL, a toric version of its Collamer IOL, and the Visian toric implantable Collamer lens.
