Peak Surgical’s ear, nose and throat (ENT) technology is to reach the international market after the firm signed an exclusive distribution deal with Medtronic. Under the terms of the deal, Medtronic’s surgical technologies subsidiary will make Peak’s PlasmaBlade TnA tissue dissection device available globally. PlasmaBlade is a disposable, low-temperature device used for cutting and coagulation of soft tissue during otolaryngology surgery. Palo Alto, California-based Peak said that this deal would allow it to capture a significant share of the “sizable” global tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy market. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
