Coherex bags exclusive distribution deal with Abbott

Coherex Medical is to launch its FlatStent EF system onto the world market after signing an exclusive distribution deal with Abbott. FlatStent EF is designed to close patent foramen ovales (PFOs) using a percutaneous catheter-based approach. Abbott has gained marketing, sales and distribution rights to the product in all countries except for the US and Japan. Coherex will continue to manufacture FlatStent EF out of its Salt Lake City facility.
