Cuba is in discussions with Brazil over co-operation in the area of conformity assessment, according to Brazil's technical standards association (ABNT, Associação Brasileira de Normas Técnicas). Last month, the director-general of Cuba's technology and quality centre (CTEC, Centro de Tecnologia e Qualidade), L�zaro Díaz Guzm�n, visited the Rio de Janeiro-based ABNT, with a view to establishing joint activities based around Brazil's national conformity assessment (CA) system, including the development of CA programmes in unspecified areas.
