Executive Summary
Reverse Medical's ReCruit microcatheter, intended to retrieve foreign objects from blood vessels, including the neurovasculature, during interventional radiology procedures, has received 510(k) clearance from the US FDA. The distal tip rate of radial deployment of the catheter can be controlled by the neurointerventionalist during a procedure, and its flexibility allows for deep brain navigation through tortuous anatomy. Launch of the catheter is set for 2010, the Irvine, California firm said.
