UK launches Innovation Fund, sure of £1bn boost for SMEs

The UK's life sciences industry has wholeheartedly welcomed the government's go-ahead for the creation of a UK Innovation Fund (UKIF) which is expected to provide more than £1bn ($1.66bn) in early-stage funding to support development of new technologies over the next 10 years.
