Clinica has learnt of a possible conflict of interest – in spirit, if not in deed – in the recent transfer of responsibility for Spain's flagship oncology (CNIO), cardiovascular (CNIC) and neurology (CIEN) R&D centres from the ministry of health to that of science & innovation (see Clinica No 1331, p 11). There is no suggestion of any impropriety.
