This month sees the launch of the Asian Journal of Endoscopic Surgery, the joint official publication of the Asia Endosurgery Task Force and the Japan Society for Endoscopic Surgery (JSES). The journal, published by Wiley-Blackwell, the scientific, technical and medical publishing business of John Wiley & Sons (Hoboken, New Jersey), will cover significant studies in the fields of endoscopic surgery and review articles and meeting reports by related associations. "Laparoscopic sentinel node navigation surgery for early gastric cancer" and "current trends of laparoscopic gastrectomy for gastric cancer in Japan" are among the topics featured in the inaugural issue.
