Varian Medical becomes MEI’s radiation therapy provider

Private healthcare company MEI Healthcare Group (Coral Springs, Florida) has signed up Varian Medical Systems as its sole provider of radiation therapy systems for cancer treatment. The two firms have entered a strategic agreement whereby MEI will purchase Varian’s technology for its MEI Development subsidiary, which will in turn make the technology available to its physician and hospital clients. Varian offers informatics software which the company claims is designed to manage comprehensive cancer clinics, radiotherapy centers and medical oncology practices. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
