Steve Barnett has been appointed chief executive of the UK's NHS Confederation, after acting in that capacity for the last 10 months. During that period, the body has completed a major review of its work and future plans. The NHS Confederation represents some 95% of the NHS across the UK, including the special and strategic health authorities in England; trusts and local health boards in Wales; and health and social service trusts and boards in Northern Ireland.
