German start-ups need dedicated help, says industry

The German medtech industry is stressing that new companies need special treatment to help them become established in the market. “There are high numbers of start-ups in the innovative industry branches of medical and optical technology,” said Spectaris industry association chief Sven Behrens. “We need to support these companies with our expertise.” Assistance with questions from how to secure finance to managing export trade, coping with environmental regulations, arranging trade fair participation, R&D needs and medical technology approvals are among those areas where industry associations like Berlin-based Spectaris can lend support.
