Ireland seeks urgent deployment of colorectal screening

The Irish government will introduce a national colorectal screening programme "as soon as possible", health minister Mary Harney said, following the publication today of two reports on the subject. The Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) is to urgently "identify innovative ways" of introducing screening nationally. "This is now a priority," she said.
