The UK government is being urged to make heart rhythm disorders a greater priority by ensuring that doctors conduct pulse checks during routine GP visits. This would promote timely diagnosis and treatment, says an early day motion (EDM) tabled by John Maples MP on June 9. "The early identification of heart rhythm disorders is crucial in reducing the number of premature deaths from heartbeat disorders," says the EDM.
