Transasia launches new Dengue rapid test India-wide

Indian in vitro diagnostics company Transasia Bio-Medicals has launched a new rapid test for the infectious disease dengue. The CE-marked Erba Den-Go test will be sold across India. Advantages claimed for the test are that it takes 15 minutes; has an overall accuracy of 99.3%; and allows "presumptive differentiation" between primary and secondary dengue, according to BusinessWire India. The virus reportedly affects 50-100 million people per year globally and causes death in 5% of victims. Transasia is a well-established firm based in Mumbai. It has award-winning status, and claims to be the first Indian manufacturer to export "state-of-the-art" blood analysers and reagents.
