Olympus Life Science Europa has gained the rights to distribute and market Thermo Fisher Scientific’s TC automation line of laboratory automation products for an undisclosed fee. This deal allows Olympus to combine Waltham, Massachusetts-based Thermo’s technology with its existing lab analysers to provide an open-track laboratory automation system. Olympus (Munich, Germany) said the technology would provide medium- to large-sized hospitals and private labs with the ability to automate a range of sample processing procedures, including decapping, centrifugation, aliquoting, recapping, storage and revival.
