Medical laser products developer PhotoMedex is looking to consolidate its presence in the global dermatology market with the proposed acquisition of Photo Therapeutics, a privately-owned, UK-based company specialising in dermatological treatment devices. PhotoMedex, of Montogomeryville, Pennsylvania, has definitively agreed to pay $13m upfront on closing of the transaction, and an additional $7m for gross profit milestones met by Photo Therapeutics for the period July 1 2008 and June 30 2009.
