Executive Summary
For an undisclosed fee, UK medical device group Smiths Medical and US healthcare solutions company MediPurpose have expanded an existing distribution deal for the latter’s safety lancets to encompass the whole European market. The exclusive partnership follows an earlier agreement, struck in January this year, which saw London based Smiths distribute the SurgiLance lancets solely in France. According to MediPurpose (Norcross, Georgia), the SurgiLance safety lancets are “one of the most convenient and safe lancets available in the market for micro blood sampling”, as they are colour-coded for easy-recognition and safe, and the needle is safely concealed before and after use.
