Executive Summary
India’s ministry of health and family welfare has agreed “in principle” to establish an “advisory forum” to act as a line of communication between industry and government. The forum would enable the resolution of issues between government and industry that may otherwise end up in court. The details of the initiative have yet to be decided, but it would consist of a range of participants, including from the medtech and other bioscience industry sectors, regulators, NGOs and consumer bodies. Industry has long been demanding the formation of such a body, according to Indian healthcare magazine Pharmabiz.
