Medical technologies developer ConvaTec (Skillman, New Jersey) has appointed Paul Moraviec as president of its newly-created continence and critical care business unit, and of ConvaTec's Europe, Middle East and Africa operations (ConvaTec EMEA). Mr Moraviec, who will be based in Birkerod, Denmark, was most recently CEO of UK surgical robotics company Prosurgics. He has also held senior executive roles at Abbott's diabetes care division, Codman (a Johnson & Johnson company) and UK medical device start-up IIT. This appointment completes ConvaTec's recent restructuring of its top-tier management, which includes Michael Steadman, president of wound therapeutics and ConvaTec USA; Nino Pionati, president of ostomy care, and ConvaTec Intercontinental; and John Lindskog, president of infusion devices.
