Cancer therapy specialist North American Scientific (NAS) has definitively agreed to divest its non-therapeutic product line – consisting of radiation sources used for calibration, measurement, analysis and control applications – to the US subsidiary of German company Eckert & Ziegler Isotope Products. The transaction, expected to close tomorrow, is valued at around $6m. The sale will enable Chatsworth, California-based NAS to focus on its cancer therapy business, which includes its Prospera and ClearPath brachytherapy product lines for prostate and breast cancers.
