Respiratory products developer Intersurgical (Liverpool, New York) has chosen healthcare distributor Tri-anim Health Services as a distributor of its i-gel supraglottic airway device. According to Sylmar, California-based Tri-anim, the i-gel product is “designed to create a non-inflatable, anatomical seal of the pharyngeal, laryngeal and perilaryngeal structures, while avoiding compression trauma”. Intersurgical claims that this single-use technology reduces the possibility of epiglottis downfolding and obstruction of the airway. This deal, of which financial details were not disclosed, is a by-product of an existing three-year relationship between the two companies.
