Executive Summary
Horiba ABX, the French company specialising in automated instruments and reagents used in blood analysis, has changed its name to Horiba Medical. The move is to give the firm "a strong unified identity" within its parent company, Japanese conglomerate Horiba Group. Horiba Medical, headquartered in Montpellier, manufactures 25% of all haematology instruments worldwide. It generates around €134.4m ($172m) in revenue and invests over 10% of its turnover in R&D. It was acquired by Horiba Group in 1996, and forms one of the group's five key divisions.
