This article was originally published in Clinica

Executive Summary

The UK has seen a 275% rise in breast augmentation procedures during the last six years, from 2,361 in 2002 to 6,497 in 2007, according to a survey by the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS). Based on the almost 27,000 procedures performed by its members during that period, the survey, said to be the UK’s largest-ever in this area, provides data on breast augmentation trends, including complication, infection and re-operation rates.
