Olympus to integrate UK businesses for medtech gain

Executive Summary

In a bid to increase the strength of its healthcare offering, medtech giant Olympus is set to combine its UK operations under one management team. Olympus UK, which is based in Watford and focuses on camera, audio and life science sectors, and Olympus KeyMed, located in Southend-on-Sea and specialising in medical and industrial business, are currently individual segments of the company. This move will see Olympus KeyMed’s group managing director Paul Hillman become managing director of Olympus UK and Piers Devereux retain his role as joint managing director of Olympus UK. The firm said that Messrs Hillman and Devereux will work together to maximise the synergies that exist between the medical and life sciences businesses.
