Digital imaging firm Alpha Innotech is set to extend an exclusive OEM agreement with GE Healthcare for an extra five years. The partnership, which was first struck up in April 2005, will see Alpha Innotech (San Leandro, California) develop, manufacture and supply imaging systems to GE, which will in turn sell the products worldwide under its own brand name. GE will target the life science research and drug discovery markets. No financial details were disclosed. Alpha Innotech vice-president for marketing and business development Sia Ghazvini said that combining GE’s worldwide reach and expertise in biological applications with Alpha Innotech’s experience of imaging technologies will allow customers to have completely integrated research products.
