EU medtech standards 'in crisis' as tough checking by EC creates backlog

The European Commission is slowly and methodically reviewing a whole raft of updated harmonized EU standards to check they are fit for purpose, but a backlog of work is building up and it seems that it could be some time before work that has already been carried out at European standardization organization CEN is officially recognized.
