Executive Summary
Less than two years after Fossa Medical Inc.'s formation, its lead product, the Stone Sweeper, has been 510(k) cleared for use as both an expanding ureteral stent and as a tool for kidney stone removal. It is the first device approach specifically targeting small kidney stones or fragments in the 3-to-5 mm range, and the first that will enable stone removal in an outpatient setting.
