FDA's Jan Welch Is ORA's First Device Director; New Acting CDRH Compliance Chief Named

FDA's Jan Welch has vacated the role of acting director of CDRH's Office of Compliance, moving to a newly created position in the agency's Office of Regulatory Affairs aimed at coordinating medical device facility inspections and other related activities. Sean Boyd, previously deputy director of the Division of Radiological Health in CDRH's Office of In Vitro Diagnostics and Radiological Health, is the new acting head of the CDRH Compliance Office.
