Device maker Medikit and Ohio non-profit PediaWorks are forming a joint venture to address shortages in medical devices for use in pediatric patients, the groups announced Sept. 9. The venture, named PediaCath, will be "the first and only company to develop catheters just for children," the firms say. Medikit is contributing $500,000 as seed funding, plus its team of R&D engineers and its rapid prototyping facilities. PediaWorks will provide executive management and access to its network of pediatric clinical advisors and researchers.
