Executive Summary
New-tech Town Hall date set: The severe snowstorms that hit the mid-Atlantic region earlier this month led CMS to reschedule the New-Technology Town Hall meeting, originally set for Feb. 10 in Baltimore, to Friday, Feb. 19. CMS plans to make a call-in phone number available on its Web site. The annual meeting gives device makers a chance to prove whether the products named in their applications for new-technology add-on payments offer substantial clinical improvement over existing technology. Four device makers have applied for 2011 new-tech add-on payments: Monteris Medical, InfraReDx, Zimmer and Nycomed Austria (1"The Gray Sheet" Dec. 14, 2009). A New Technology Informational Workshop, also scheduled for Feb. 10, was cancelled indefinitely
