Endologix, Medtronic debut aortic aneurysm stent graft delivery systems

Endologix plans a limited market release for its IntuiTrak stent graft delivery system in November, followed by a full commercial launch in the second quarter of 2009. The firm announced FDA go-ahead Oct. 22 for IntuiTrak, used to deliver the firm's Powerlink endovascular stent graft for abdominal aortic aneurysms. IntuiTrak features enhanced flexibility and hemostasis control, and a hydrophilic coating to facilitate smooth delivery, according to the company. Separately, on Oct. 22 Medtronic announced the FDA approval and launch of its Xcelerant delivery system for its Talent endovascular stent graft for thoracic aortic aneurysms. Xcelerant features improved trackability and controlled deployment for more accurate stent graft placement, and is provided in a wide range of sizes so more patients can be treated, Medtronic explains
