Executive Summary

Biotronik launches its Stratos LV cardiac resynchronization therapy pacemaker in the U.S. July 1 for treatment of heart failure. According to the German firm, Stratos offers more memory storage for diagnostic reports than competing products and has unique features to maintain left ventricular pacing. The device was approved by FDA in May, and has as a condition of approval a five-year postmarket study designed to test complication rates of the CRT leads. Biotronik also offers the Lumax CRT defibrillator
