Executive Summary
Alphatec Spine will jointly develop start-up Progressive Spinal Technologies' pedicle screw for patients with osteoporosis under an exclusive worldwide license agreement announced Dec. 20. "Although aimed at providing a superior solution for poor bone quality patients, this pedicle screw may also become the new standard of care for all pedicle screw technology," Alphatec CEO Dirk Kuyper said. Terms were not disclosed, but include an upfront license fee, milestone payments and minimum annual royalties on sales beginning in 2009 to be paid by Alphatec
