Zimmer announces 510(k) clearance of its Gender Solutions high-flex knee replacement May 10. The knee, based upon the firm's NexGen technology, is tailored to fit women and small men by incorporating a narrower shape and unique angle by which the kneecap tracks over the femur. Zimmer estimates that two-thirds of knee replacements in the $4.6 bil. market are for women.
