Sen. Mike Enzi (R-Wyo.), Chairman of the Senate Health, Education, Labor & Pensions Committee, announces Sept. 20 unanimous committee approval of "Consumer Assurance of Radiologic Excellence Act" (S 2322), intended to make medical imaging and radiation therapy safer, more accurate and less costly. The bill would establish imaging and radiation therapy personnel standards, require licensure for providers of technical services in every state and certify accreditation bodies.
