In Dec. 2 comments, AdvaMed reiterates its desire for CMS to delay implementation of competitive bidding for durable medical equipment until Jan. 1, 2007 (1"The Gray Sheet" Sept. 5, 2005, p. 15). Because the proposed rule still has not been released, AdvaMed says that the time required to accredit suppliers, select suppliers, choose initial metropolitan statistical areas and educate beneficiaries "will be condensed into a few short months" and will result in marketplace disruption and reduced beneficiary access...
