Orthofix elects new chairman: Eight-year board member Jim Gero to become orthopedic firm's new chair, replacing Robert Gaines-Cooper by year-end, the company announces March 26. Gero formerly served as director of American Medical Electronics, which Orthofix acquired in 1995, and as CEO of Sierra Technologies and Sierra Networks.
