National Institute for Clinical Excellence 1(NICE) final appraisal determination guidance recommends all "suitable" patients should be offered the option of hemodialysis in the home as well as in a hospital/satellite unit. The guidance estimates that 10-15% of all dialysis patients in England and Wales will opt for home hemodialysis and that expansion of services will be required.
