Department of Veterans Affairs is creating three new research centers for development of artificial retinas for blind veterans and new therapies for spinal cord injury, VA says July 12. The centers will join nine other VA centers for excellence and will have a budget of more than $11.1 mil. over a five-year period. Separately, on July 3, VA announced formation of a taskforce to improve efficiency and cut costs in its procurement processes
